ADS was responsible for the piping and equipment only. Reeves Young built the concrete fountain structures and handled all the finishes.Lake & Memorial Fountain: Two pools, separated by a pedestrian walkway make up one large roughly “kidney shaped” reflecting pool totaling 30,000 square feet of water surface area. There are no spray effects for these pools, but underwater lighting is included per your recommendations and the sketch provided.Pool equipment for these pools will be designed to maintain safe conditions and will be located in a subterranean equipment vault located in a nearby planting area. The second water feature referred to as the Hilltop Fountain, 2000 sf, has a concrete runnel or flume spilling water into an arced pool.Fountain equipment for this feature will be located in an equipment room at a nearby bathroom building. Completed July 2024.

Six Flags Ultra Surf Splash Feature

Aqua Design Systems is excited to contribute to the newest thrill ride at Six Flags Over Georgia — the Ultra Surf, a dynamic coaster experience that launches riders back and forth along a giant horseshoe-shaped track. As part of the ride’s immersive design, a shallow pond with interactive fountain effects will be featured at the low point of the attraction, adding both visual drama and sensory impact.

While the ride vehicle itself does not come into contact with the water, its movement across the low track section will trigger timed fountain bursts that simulate splash effects, enhancing the rider experience and spectator appeal. These high-energy water displays will arc over or erupt alongside the passing vehicle, choreographed to heighten the impression of a near miss with water — all without actually getting riders wet.

Because the park operates 10 months out of the year, the design takes into account seasonal flexibility. During warmer months, the feature will serve as a water-driven spectacle with choreographed spray sequences. In the colder months, the pond transforms into a visual centerpiece through interactive lighting effects, providing entertainment and ambiance even when the fountains are not actively spraying.

To support both visual and operational goals, the pond will be engineered with a self-contained water treatment system, ensuring consistently safe and clean water for public display. Aqua Design’s deep experience with interactive fountains, ride-adjacent features, and high-performance aquatic systems makes us uniquely qualified to bring this attraction to life — both as a ride enhancement and as a standalone spectacle.

Project consisted of 4 fountains for Alys Beach that was original concrete structures, but we switched to stainless steel by Bradford Products. Bradford built and tiled the fountains]. ADS set the structures in the field. ADS only provided mechanical and piping for the wall fountain structure. Completed April 2024.

Sandy Springs Veterans Park Fountain
Sandy Springs, GA

The fountain consists of 3 bodies of water each with a collection of vertical spray effects The larger upper pool spills water to both a smaller mid-level pool via a single spillway and also to the lowest pool which serves as reservoir for water-in-transit for the entire system. Each of the three pools have illuminated spray effects. Pool structures are of cast-in-place concrete. Interior finishes include a liquid applied waterproofing for the pool walls and floors and a tile border around the perimeter at the waterline for each pool. Exterior finishes are of precast veneer and wall caps, and tile at the spillways.The fountain equipment including systems for both water treatment and for spray effects arehoused in a subterranean cast-in-place concrete vault with an access hatch. Completed December 2023.

Matt Swift Park Fountain
Columbus, GA

This water feature is only one of six currently existing in the world. Containing 24 jumping jets, each individual jet creates a clear column of arched water utilizing a specially designed, custom make ultra-sized “Leaping Laminar” nozzle. 12-foot arches spray approximated 12 feet of shooting water over a 36-foot long sidewalk without “wetting” the pedestrians passing under the water arches. A 2-3-inch-deep pool in the landing area allows for water to cascade into the basing and is then recycled by a pump system. LED choreographed color lights present a night-time show that is spectacular. Completed July 2019.

Tyler Perry Studio Fountain
Atlanta, GA

A 35’ diameter pool, elevated above grade fountain. Consists of 12 nozzles separated into 3 zones which will be controlled by a controller capable of turning the nozzles on and off as well as ramping their spray heights up and down to a programmed, choreographed sequence. The coiriponents are scalable so that in the future different programs and sequences can be added for variety or to celebrate a holiday or event. The program could be adjusted to coordinate with music, or the video display on the giant screens.
